1 Kings 8:40

That they may fear thee
For his goodness sake in hearing their prayer, removing their affliction, and bestowing his blessings on them, particularly in forgiving their sins, see ( Psalms 130:4 ) ( Hosea 3:5 )

all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our
fathers;
not only for the present, while the mercy is fresh, but all the days of their lives; to which they were the more obliged by the good land they possessed as a divine gift, and which they held by the tenure of their obedience, ( Isaiah 1:19 ) .

38 toda oración y toda súplica que hiciere cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sintiere la plaga de su corazón, y extendiere sus manos a esta Casa;

39 tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y perdonarás, y obrarás, y darás a cada uno conforme a todos sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces (porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres);

40 para que te teman todos los días que vivieren sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres.

41 Asimismo el extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejanas tierras a causa de tu nombre,

42 (porque habrán oído de tu gran nombre, y de tu mano fuerte, y de tu brazo extendido), y viniere a orar a esta Casa;
