Proverbios 31:10-31

10 Alef Mujer valiente, ¿quién la hallará? Porque su valor pasa largamente a la de piedras preciosas.

11 Bet El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y no tendrá necesidad de despojo.

12 Guímel Ella le dará bien y no mal, todos los días de su vida.

13 Dálet Buscó lana y lino, y con voluntad labró con sus manos.

14 He Fue como navío de mercader; trae su pan de lejos.

15 Vau Se levantó aun de noche, y dio comida a su familia, y ración a sus criadas.

16 Zain Consideró la heredad, y la compró; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.

24 Sámec Hizo telas, y vendió; y dio cintas al mercader.

25 Aín Fortaleza y gloria es su vestidura; y en el día postrero reirá.

26 Pe Abrió su boca con sabiduría; y la ley de misericordia está en su lengua.

27 Tsade Considera los caminos de su casa, y no come el pan de balde.

28 Caf Se levantaron sus hijos, y la llamaron bienaventurada; y su marido también la alabó.

29 Res Muchas mujeres hicieron el bien; mas tú las sobrepasas a todas.

30 Sin Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura; la mujer que teme al SEÑOR, ésa será alabada.

Proverbios 31:10-31 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO PROVERBS 31

This chapter contains the last part of the book of Proverbs; which some reckon the fifth, others the sixth. It contains the instructions of the mother of a prince, whose name was Lemuel, which she gave unto him; and which are so valuable, as to be annexed to the proverbs of Solomon. The preface or introduction to them is in Pr 31:1; the address to her son, Pr 31:2. The vices she cautions him against are uncleanness and intemperance; which she dissuades from, because of the pernicious consequences of both to kings and to their subjects, Pr 31:3-5. Advises rather to give wine and strong drink to poor people, such as are in distress; as being more useful to them, at least less prejudicial, Pr 31:6,7; and exhorts her son to the duties of his office; by pleading the cause of the poor and injured, and administering justice to them, Pr 31:8,9. And then at large describes a virtuous woman; perhaps designed as an instruction to her son in the choice of a wife, Pr 31:10-31; though more than that may be intended by it.
