Leviticus 18:17

17 Thou shalt not show the filth(hood) of a woman, and of her daughter; thou shalt not take the daughter of her son, and the daughter of her daughter, that thou show her shame; they be the flesh of her, and such lechery is incest, that is, lechery of them that be kin. (Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of both a woman, and her daughter; thou shalt not take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, and uncover their nakedness; for they be of her flesh, and such lechery is incest, that is, lechery of them who be kin.)

Leviticus 18:17 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 18:17

Thou shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her
daughter
That is, if a man marries a woman, and she has a daughter, which is the man's daughter-in-law, after the death of his wife he may not marry this daughter; for this daughter is of the same flesh with her mother, who became one flesh with the man she married, and therefore his relation to her daughter is too near to marry her: Jarchi says, if he does not marry the woman, but only deflower her, it is free for him to marry her daughter; but Aben Ezra says, if he has lain with the mother, the daughter is forbidden; however, if he married either of them, the other was forbidden; he could not marry them both, neither in the lifetime of them both, nor after the death of either of them: neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's
daughter, to uncover her nakedness;
not any of her granddaughters, either in the line of her son or daughter; that is, might not lie with either of them, or marry them, and much less then marry her own daughter, these being a further remove from her: [for] they [are] her near kinswomen;
one or other of them, even every one of them, "the rest" and residue "of her" F18, of her flesh, who together made one flesh with her; and therefore not to be married to her husband, either in her life, or after her death: it [is] wickedness:
a very great wickedness, abominable in the sight of God, and to be detested by man as vile and impious; it is whoredom, as the Targum of Jonathan renders it.

Leviticus 18:17 In-Context

15 Thou shalt not show the filthhood of thy son's wife, for she is the wife of thy son, neither thou shalt discover her shame; and no man take his brother's wife. (Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy son's wife, for she is thy son's wife, so thou shalt not uncover her nakedness; and no man shall take his brother's wife to bed.)
16 Thou shalt not show the filth(hood) of thy brother's wife, for it is the filthhood of thy brother. (Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife, for her nakedness is for thy brother alone.)
18 Thou shalt not take the sister of thy wife, to (the) anguish of her, neither thou shalt show the filth(hood) of her, while thy wife liveth yet. (Thou shalt not take thy wife's sister to bed, and so cause thy wife anguish, nor shalt thou uncover her sister's nakedness, while thy wife yet liveth.)
19 Thou shalt not nigh to a woman that suffereth the running of blood of month, neither thou shalt show her filthhood. (Thou shalt not come near to a woman who suffereth the running of the blood of the month, nor shalt thou uncover her nakedness.)
