John 14:10-20

10 Do you not believe that ¹I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you ²I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.

11 Believe me that ³I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else ⁴believe on account of the works themselves.

12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, ⁵whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I ⁶am going to the Father.

13 ⁷Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that ⁸the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 ⁹If you ask me^[a] anything in my name, I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

15 ¹⁰“If you love me, you will ¹¹keep my commandments.

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another ¹²Helper, ^[b] to be with you forever,

17 even ¹³the Spirit of truth, ¹⁴whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and ¹⁵will be^[c] in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; ¹⁶I will come to you.

19 ¹⁷Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but ¹⁸you will see me. ¹⁹Because I live, you also will live.

20 ²⁰In that day you will know that ²¹I am in my Father, and ²²you in me, and ²³I in you.
