For behold,
1the days are coming when they will say,
2‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed! ’
30
3Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us, ’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us. ’

5the wood is green, what will happen
6when it is dry? ”

13the people stood by, watching,
14but
15the rulers
16scoffed at him, saying,
17“He saved others;
18let him save himself,
19if he is
20the Christ of God,
21his Chosen One! ”
36
The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and
22offering him sour wine
37
and saying,
23“If you are
24the King of the Jews, save yourself! ”
38
25There was also an inscription over him, “This is
26the King of the Jews. ”
39
27One of the criminals who were hanged
28railed at him, saying, “Are you not
29the Christ? Save yourself and us! ”
