Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ
13 3Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, āWho do people say that the Son of Man is? ā
14
And they said, āSome say

15
He said to them, āBut who do you say that I am? ā

18
And I tell you,

15on this rock I will build my church, and
16the gates of
17hell shall not prevail against it.
19
I will give you
18the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and
19whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. ā
20
20Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.

22
And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, āFar be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you. ā
