14 Egli mira, dalla stanza del suo seggio, Tutti gli abitanti della terra.
15 Egli è quel che ha formato il cuor di essi tutti, Che considera tutte le loro opere.
16 Il re non è salvato per grandezza di esercito; L’uomo prode non iscampa per grandezza di forza.
17 Il cavallo è cosa fallace per salvare, E non può liberare colla grandezza della sua possa.
18 Ecco, l’occhio del Signore è inverso quelli che lo temono; Inverso quelli che sperano nella sua benignità;
19 Per riscuoter l’anima loro dalla morte, E per conservarli in vita in tempo di fame.
20 L’anima nostra attende il Signore; Egli è il nostro aiuto, e il nostro scudo.
21 Certo, il nostro cuore si rallegrerà in lui; Perciocchè noi ci siam confidati nel Nome della sua santità.
22 La tua benignitĂ , o Signore, sia sopra noi, Siccome noi abbiamo sperato in te.

Psalm 33:14-22 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 33

Though this psalm has no title to it, it seems to be a psalm of David, from the style and matter of it; and indeed begins with the same words with which the preceding psalm is ended. Theodoret is of opinion it was written by David as a prophecy concerning Hezekiah, as a song to be sung by the people after the destruction of the Assyrian army.
