Their Ministry Commended

1 And ¹working together with Him, ²we also urge you not to receive ³the grace of God in vain - 2 for He says, "⁴AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU." Behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold, now is "THE DAY OF SALVATION "- 3 ⁵giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited, 4 but in everything ⁶commending ourselves as ^a⁷servants of God, ⁸in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, 5 in ⁹beatings, in imprisonments, in ¹⁰tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in ¹¹hunger, 6 in purity, in ¹²knowledge, in ¹³patience, in kindness, in the ¹⁴Holy Spirit, in ¹⁵genuine love, 7 in ¹⁶the word of truth, in ¹⁷the power of God ; by ¹⁸the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left, 8 by glory and ¹⁹dishonor, by ²⁰evil report and good report ; regarded as ²¹deceivers and yet ²²true ; 9 as unknown ^byet well-known, as ²³dying ^cyet behold, ²⁴we live ; as ^dpunished ^eyet not put to death, 10 as ²⁵sorrowful yet always ²⁶rejoicing, as ²⁷poor yet making many rich, as ²⁸having nothing ^fyet possessing ²⁹all things. 11 ³⁰Our mouth ^ghas spoken freely to you, O Corinthians, our ³¹heart is opened wide. 12 You are not restrained ^hby us, but ³²you are restrained in your own ⁱaffections. 13 Now in a like ³³exchange -I speak as to ³⁴children -open wide to us also. 14 ³⁵Do not be ^jbound together with ³⁶unbelievers ; for what ³⁷partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness ? 15 Or what ³⁸harmony has Christ with ^kBelial, or ^lwhat has a ³⁹believer in common with an ⁴⁰unbeliever ? 16 Or ⁴¹what agreement has the temple of God with idols ? For we are ⁴²the temple of ⁴³the living God ; just as God said, "⁴⁴I WILL ⁴⁵DWELL IN THEM AND ⁴⁶WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. 17 "⁴⁷Therefore, ⁴⁸COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN ; And I will welcome you. 18 "⁴⁹And I will be a father to you, And you shall be ⁵⁰sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.
