Deuteronomy 27:11-21

Listen to Deuteronomy 27:11-21
11 Moses also charged the people on that day, saying,
12 "When you cross the Jordan, these shall stand on 1Mount Gerizim to bless the people: 2Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
13 "For the curse, these shall stand on Mount Ebal: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14 "The Levites shall then answer and say to all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
15 'Cursed is the man who makes 3an idol or a molten image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.' And 4all the people shall answer and say, 'Amen.'
16 '5Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'
17 '6Cursed is he who moves his neighbor's boundary mark.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'
18 '7Cursed is he who misleads a blind person on the road.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'
19 '8Cursed is he who distorts the justice due an alien, orphan, and widow.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'
20 '9Cursed is he who lies with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's skirt.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'
21 '10Cursed is he who lies with any animal.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'

INTRODUCTION TO DEUTERONOMY 27

In this chapter the people of Israel are ordered to write the law on plastered stones, and set them on Mount Ebal, De 27:1-4; where they are bid to erect an altar, and offer sacrifices on it, De 27:5-8; and are charged by Moses and the priests to obey the Lord, and keep his commandments, De 27:9,10; and a direction is given to each tribes which should stand and bless, and which curse, and where, De 27:11-13; and the curses which the Levites should pronounce with a loud voice, and the people should say Amen to, are recited, De 27:14-25; and the whole is concluded with a curse on all who in general do not perform the whole law, De 27:26.
