So the chiefcupbearertold his dream to Joseph, and said to him, "In my dream, abehold, there was a vine in front of me;
and on the vine were threebranches. And as it was budding, its blossomscame out, and its clustersproducedripegrapes.
"Now Pharaoh'scup was in my hand; so I took the grapes and squeezed them into Pharaoh'scup, and I put the cup into Pharaoh'sbhand."
Then Josephsaid to him, "This is the 1interpretation of it: the threebranches are threedays;
within threemoredaysPharaoh will clift up your head and restore you to your doffice; and you will putPharaoh'scup into his hand according to your formercustomwhen you were his cupbearer.
14"Onlyekeep me in mind when it goeswell with you, and please2do me a kindnessfby mentioning me to Pharaoh and get me out of thishouse.
"For 3I was in factkidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and evenhere I have donenothing that they should have put me into the gdungeon."
When the chiefbakersaw that he had interpretedfavorably, he said to Joseph, "I also saw in my dream, and behold, there were threebaskets of whitebread on my head;
and in the topbasket there were some of allhsorts of bakedfood for Pharaoh, and the birds were eating them out of the basket on my head."
Then Josephanswered and said, "This is its interpretation: the threebaskets are threedays;
within threemoredaysPharaoh will lift up your head from you and will hang you on a tree, and the birds will eat your fleshoff you."
