1Brethren, my heart'sdesire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.
For I testify about them that they have1a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.
For not knowing about 2God'srighteousness and 3seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
For 4Christ is the aend of the law for righteousness to 5everyone who believes.
For Moseswrites that the man who practices the righteousness which is bbased on law6shall livecby that righteousness.
But 7the righteousnessdbased on faithspeaks as follows: "8DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, 'WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?' (that is, to bringChristdown ),
7or'WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE 9ABYSS?' (that is, to 10bringChrist up from the dead)."
But what does it say? "11THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart "-that is, the word of faithwhich we are preaching,
9ethat 12if you confess with your mouthJesus as Lord, and 13believe in your heart that 14Godraised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
for with the heart a person believes, fresulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, gresulting in salvation.
