12 Und der Bote, der hingegangen war, Micha zu rufen, redete zu ihm und sprach: Siehe, die Worte der Propheten verkündigen einstimmig dem König Gutes; so laß doch dein Wort sein wie das Wort eines von ihnen, und rede Gutes.

13 Aber Micha sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt, was mein Gott mir sagen wird, das werde ich reden!

14 Und als er zu dem König kam, sprach der König zu ihm: Micha, sollen wir nach Ramoth-Gilead in den Streit ziehen, oder soll ich davon abstehen? Und er sprach: Ziehet hinauf, und es wird euch gelingen; denn sie werden in eure Hand gegeben werden.

15 Und der König sprach zu ihm: Wieviele Male muß ich dich beschwören, daß du nichts zu mir reden sollst, als nur Wahrheit im Namen Jehovas?

16 Da sprach er: Ich sah ganz Israel auf den Bergen zerstreut wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben. Und Jehova sprach: Diese haben keinen Herrn; sie sollen ein jeder nach seinem Hause zurückkehren in Frieden.

17 Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: Habe ich dir nicht gesagt: er weissagt nichts Gutes über mich, sondern nur Böses?

18 Und er sprach: Darum höret das Wort Jehovas: Ich sah Jehova auf seinem Throne sitzen, und alles Heer des Himmels zu seiner Rechten und zu seiner Linken stehen.

19 Und Jehova sprach: Wer will Ahab, den König von Israel, bereden, daß er hinaufziehe und zu Ramoth-Gilead falle? Und der eine sprach so, und der andere sprach so.

20 Da trat ein Geist hervor und stellte sich vor Jehova und sprach: Ich will ihn bereden. Und Jehova sprach zu ihm: Wodurch?

21 Und er sprach: Ich will ausgehen und will ein Lügengeist sein in dem Munde aller seiner Propheten. Und er sprach: Du wirst ihn bereden und wirst es auch ausrichten; gehe aus und tue also!

22 Und nun, siehe, Jehova hat einen Lügengeist in den Mund dieser deiner Propheten gelegt, und Jehova hat Böses über dich geredet.

12 The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, “Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.”

13 But Micaiah said, “As surely as the LORD lives, I can tell him only what my God says.”

14 When he arrived, the king asked him, “Micaiah, shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I not?” “Attack and be victorious,” he answered, “for they will be given into your hand.”

15 The king said to him, “How many times must I make you swear to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?”

16 Then Micaiah answered, “I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd, and the LORD said, ‘These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.’ ”

17 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad?”

18 Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing on his right and on his left.

19 And the LORD said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’ “One suggested this, and another that.

20 Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the LORD and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “ ‘By what means?’ the LORD asked.

21 “ ‘I will go and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said. “ ‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the LORD. ‘Go and do it.’

22 “So now the LORD has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours. The LORD has decreed disaster for you.”
