1 Yo <I>soy</I> el Lirio del campo (<I>de Sarón</I> ), y la rosa de los valles.

I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
2 Como el lirio entre las espinas, así <I>es</I> mi amiga entre las doncellas.

Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.
3 Como el manzano entre los árboles silvestres, así <I>es</I> mi amado entre los hijos; bajo su sombra deseé <I>sentarme</I> , y su fruto <I>fue</I> dulce en mi paladar.

Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
4 Me llevó a la cámara del vino, y puso su bandera de amor sobre mí.

Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.
5 Sustentadme con frascos <I>de vino</I> , esforzadme con manzanas; porque estoy enferma de amor.

Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love.

7 <I>Yo</I> os conjuro, oh doncellas de Jerusalén, por las gamas y por las ciervas del campo, que no despertéis ni hagáis velar al amor hasta que él quiera.

Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.
8 ¡La voz de mi amado! He aquí él viene saltando sobre los montes, brincando sobre los collados.

Listen! My beloved! Look! Here he comes, leaping across the mountains, bounding over the hills.
9 Mi amado <I>es</I> semejante al gamo, o al cabrito de los ciervos. Helo aquí, está tras nuestra pared, mirando por las ventanas, mostrándose por las rejas.

My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Look! There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, peering through the lattice.
10 Mi amado habló, y me dijo: Levántate, oh compañera mía, hermosa mía, y vente.

My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.
11 Porque he aquí ha pasado el invierno, se ha mudado, la lluvia se fue;

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
12 se han mostrado las flores en la tierra, el tiempo de la canción es venido, y en nuestra tierra se ha oído la voz de la tórtola;

Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
13 la higuera ha echado sus higos, y las vides en cierne dieron olor; levántate, oh compañera mía, hermosa mía, y vente.

The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.”
14 Paloma mía, que estás en los agujeros de la peña, en lo escondido de la escalera, muéstrame tu vista, hazme oír tu voz; porque tu voz es dulce, y tu vista hermosa.

My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.
15 Cazadnos las zorras, las zorras pequeñas, que echan a perder las viñas; porque nuestras viñas <I>están</I> en cierne.

Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.
16 Mi amado es mío, y yo suya; el apacienta entre lirios.

My beloved is mine and I am his; he browses among the lilies.
17 Hasta que apunte el día, y huyan las sombras, vuélvete, amado mío; sé semejante al gamo, o al cabrito de los ciervos, sobre los montes de Beter.

Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or like a young stag on the rugged hills.
