1 "This is the thing that you shall do to them to make them holy, to minister to me in the Kohen's office: take one young bull and two rams without blemish,
1 “This is what you are to do to consecrate them, so they may serve me as priests: Take a young bull and two rams without defect.
2 matzah, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil: you shall make them of fine wheat flour.
2 And from the finest wheat flour make round loaves without yeast, thick loaves without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, and thin loaves without yeast and brushed with olive oil.
3 You shall put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bull and the two rams.
3 Put them in a basket and present them along with the bull and the two rams.
4 You shall bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the tent of meeting, and shall wash them with water.
4 Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
5 You shall take the garments, and put on Aharon the coat, the robe of the efod, the efod, and the breastplate, and dress him with the skillfully woven band of the efod;
5 Take the garments and dress Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself and the breastpiece. Fasten the ephod on him by its skillfully woven waistband.
6 and you shall set the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban.
6 Put the turban on his head and attach the sacred emblem to the turban.
7 Then you shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head, and anoint him.
7 Take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head.
8 You shall bring his sons, and put coats on them.
8 Bring his sons and dress them in tunics
9 You shall dress them with belts, Aharon and his sons, and bind headbands on them: and they shall have the priesthood by a perpetual statute: and you shall consecrate Aharon and his sons.
9 and fasten caps on them. Then tie sashes on Aaron and his sons. The priesthood is theirs by a lasting ordinance. “Then you shall ordain Aaron and his sons.
10 "You shall bring the bull before the tent of meeting: and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.
10 “Bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
11 You shall kill the bull before the LORD, at the door of the tent of meeting.
11 Slaughter it in the LORD’s presence at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
12 You shall take of the blood of the bull, and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger; and you shall pour out all the blood at the base of the altar.
12 Take some of the bull’s blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of it at the base of the altar.
13 You shall take all the fat that covers the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.
13 Then take all the fat on the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.
14 But the flesh of the bull, and its skin, and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside of the camp: it is a sin-offering.
14 But burn the bull’s flesh and its hide and its intestines outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
15 "You shall also take the one ram; and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
15 “Take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
16 You shall kill the ram, and you shall take its blood, and sprinkle it around on the altar.
16 Slaughter it and take the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar.
17 You shall cut the ram into its pieces, and wash its innards, and its legs, and put them with its pieces, and with its head.
17 Cut the ram into pieces and wash the internal organs and the legs, putting them with the head and the other pieces.
18 You shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
18 Then burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the LORD.
19 "You shall take the other ram; and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.
19 “Take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
20 Then you shall kill the ram, and take some of its blood, and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aharon, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood on the altar round about.
20 Slaughter it, take some of its blood and put it on the lobes of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then splash blood against the sides of the altar.
21 You shall take of the blood that is on the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aharon, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be made holy, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.
21 And take some blood from the altar and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. Then he and his sons and their garments will be consecrated.
22 Also you shall take some of the ram's fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys, the fat that is on them, and the right thigh (for it is a ram of consecration),
22 “Take from this ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat on the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, both kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh. (This is the ram for the ordination.)
23 and one loaf of bread, one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of matzah that is before the LORD.
23 From the basket of bread made without yeast, which is before the LORD, take one round loaf, one thick loaf with olive oil mixed in, and one thin loaf.
24 You shall put all of this in Aharon's hands, and in his sons' hands, and shall wave them for a wave-offering before the LORD.
24 Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and have them wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.
25 You shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt offering, for a sweet savor before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD.
25 Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar along with the burnt offering for a pleasing aroma to the LORD, a food offering presented to the LORD.
26 "You shall take the breast of Aharon's ram of consecration, and wave it for a wave-offering before the LORD: and it shall be your portion.
26 After you take the breast of the ram for Aaron’s ordination, wave it before the LORD as a wave offering, and it will be your share.
27 You shall sanctify the breast of the wave-offering, and the thigh of the heave-offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up, of the ram of consecration, even of that which is for Aharon, and of that which is for his sons:
27 “Consecrate those parts of the ordination ram that belong to Aaron and his sons: the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented.
28 and it shall be for Aharon and his sons as their portion forever from the children of Yisra'el; for it is a heave-offering: and it shall be a heave-offering from the children of Yisra'el of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, even their heave-offering to the LORD.
28 This is always to be the perpetual share from the Israelites for Aaron and his sons. It is the contribution the Israelites are to make to the LORD from their fellowship offerings.
29 "The holy garments of Aharon shall be for his sons after him, to be anointed in them, and to be consecrated in them.
29 “Aaron’s sacred garments will belong to his descendants so that they can be anointed and ordained in them.
30 Seven days shall the son who is Kohen in his place put them on, when he comes into the tent of meeting to minister in the holy place.
30 The son who succeeds him as priest and comes to the tent of meeting to minister in the Holy Place is to wear them seven days.
31 "You shall take the ram of consecration, and boil its flesh in a holy place.
31 “Take the ram for the ordination and cook the meat in a sacred place.
32 Aharon and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the tent of meeting.
32 At the entrance to the tent of meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.
33 They shall eat those things with which atonement was made, to consecrate and sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat of it, because they are holy.
33 They are to eat these offerings by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no one else may eat them, because they are sacred.
34 If anything of the flesh of the consecration, or of the bread, remains to the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.
34 And if any of the meat of the ordination ram or any bread is left over till morning, burn it up. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
35 "Thus shall you do to Aharon, and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded you. Seven days shall you consecrate them.
35 “Do for Aaron and his sons everything I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them.
36 Every day shall you offer the bull of sin-offering for atonement: and you shall cleanse the altar, when you make atonement for it; and you shall anoint it, to sanctify it.
36 Sacrifice a bull each day as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.
37 Seven days you shall make atonement for the altar, and sanctify it: and the altar shall be most holy; whatever touches the altar shall be holy.
37 For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy.
38 "Now this is that which you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually.
38 “This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day: two lambs a year old.
39 The one lamb you shall offer in the morning; and the other lamb you shall offer at evening:
39 Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.
40 and with the one lamb a tenth part of an efah of fine flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil, and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink-offering.
40 With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.
41 The other lamb you shall offer at evening, and shall do to it according to the meal-offering of the morning, and according to its drink-offering, for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
41 Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and its drink offering as in the morning—a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the LORD.
42 It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak there to you.
42 “For the generations to come this burnt offering is to be made regularly at the entrance to the tent of meeting, before the LORD. There I will meet you and speak to you;
43 There I will meet with the children of Yisra'el; and the place shall be sanctified by my glory.
43 there also I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be consecrated by my glory.
44 I will sanctify the tent of meeting and the altar: Aharon also and his sons I will sanctify, to minister to me in the Kohen's office.
44 “So I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.
45 I will dwell among the children of Yisra'el, and will be their God.
45 Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.
46 They shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them forth out of the land of Mitzrayim, that I might dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.
46 They will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
