1 And Moses assembled all the congregation of the children of Israel, and said to them, These [are] the words which the LORD hath commanded, that [ye] should do them.
1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, “These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do:
2 Six days shall work be done; but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whoever doth work therein shall be put to death.
2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.
3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath-day.
3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.”
4 And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the LORD commanded, saying,
4 Moses said to the whole Israelite community, “This is what the LORD has commanded:
5 Take ye from among you an offering to the LORD: whoever [is] of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
5 From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze;
6 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' [hair],
6 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;
7 And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,
7 ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather ; acacia wood;
8 And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense,
8 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;
9 And onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breast-plate.
9 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
10 And every wise-hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded;
10 “All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the LORD has commanded:
11 The tabernacle, its tent, and its covering, its buttons, and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets,
11 the tabernacle with its tent and its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;
12 The ark, and its staffs, [with] the mercy-seat, and the vail of the covering,
12 the ark with its poles and the atonement cover and the curtain that shields it;
13 The table, and its staffs, and all its vessels, and the show-bread,
13 the table with its poles and all its articles and the bread of the Presence;
14 The candlestick also for the light, and its furniture, and its lamps, with the oil for the light,
14 the lampstand that is for light with its accessories, lamps and oil for the light;
15 And the incense-altar, and its staffs, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the door at the entrance of the tabernacle,
15 the altar of incense with its poles, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle;
16 The altar of burnt-offering, with its brazen grate, its staffs, and all its vessels, the laver and its foot,
16 the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the bronze basin with its stand;
17 The hangings of the court, its pillars, and their sockets, and the hanging for the door of the court,
17 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard;
18 The pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their cords,
18 the tent pegs for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, and their ropes;
19 The clothes of service, to do service in the holy [place], the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office.
19 the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary—both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests.”
20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.
20 Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses’ presence,
21 And they came, every one whose heart excited him, and every one whom his spirit made willing, [and] they brought the LORD'S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.
21 and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.
22 And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing-hearted, [and] brought bracelets, and ear-rings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold; and every man that offered, [offered] an offering of gold to the LORD.
22 All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.
23 And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' [hair], and red skins of rams, and badgers' skins, brought [them].
23 Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or the other durable leather brought them.
24 Every one that offered an offering of silver and brass brought the LORD'S offering: and every man with whom was found shittim wood for any work of the service, brought [it].
24 Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it.
25 And all the women that were wise-hearted spun with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, [both] of blue, and of purple, [and] of scarlet, and of fine linen.
25 Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun—blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen.
26 And all the women whose heart moved them in wisdom spun goats' [hair].
26 And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair.
27 And the rulers brought onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breast-plate;
27 The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
28 And spice, and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense.
28 They also brought spices and olive oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.
29 The children of Israel brought a willing offering to the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.
29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do.
30 And Moses said to the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;
30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
31 And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;
31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—
32 And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,
33 And in the cutting of stones, to set [them], and in carving of wood, to make any manner of curious work.
33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.
34 And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, [both] he and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.
34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.
35 Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the skillful workmen, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, [even] of them that do any work, and of those that devise curious work.
35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.
