American Standard Version (ASV) New International Version (NIV)
Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
For if a man thinketh himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 3 If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
But let each man prove his own work, and then shall he have his glorying in regard of himself alone, and not of his neighbor. 4 Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else,
For each man shall bear his own burden. 5 for each one should carry his own load.
But let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. 6 Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
See with how large letters I write unto you with mine own hand. 11 See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand!
As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 12 Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.
For not even they who receive circumcision do themselves keep the law; but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. 13 Not even those who are circumcised obey the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your flesh.
But far be it from me to glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world hath been crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation.
And as many as shall walk by this rule, peace [be] upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. 16 Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule, even to the Israel of God.
Henceforth, let no man trouble me; for I bear branded on my body the marks of Jesus. 17 Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
