New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with scoffers. 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
But they delight in doing everything the LORD wants; day and night they think about his law. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season without fail. Their leaves never wither, and in all they do, they prosper. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
But this is not true of the wicked. They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
