GOD'S WORD Translation (GW) New International Version (NIV)
I will sing about mercy and justice. O LORD, I will make music to praise you. 1 I will sing of your love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will sing praise.
I want to understand the path to integrity. When will you come to me? I will live in my own home with integrity. 2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life-- when will you come to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart.
I will not put anything wicked in front of my eyes. I hate what unfaithful people do. I want no part of it. 3 I will set before my eyes no vile thing. The deeds of faithless men I hate; they will not cling to me.
I will keep far away from devious minds. I will have nothing to do with evil. 4 Men of perverse heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with evil.
I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor. I will not tolerate anyone with a conceited look or arrogant heart. 5 Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, him will I put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, him will I not endure.
My eyes will be watching the faithful people in the land so that they may live with me. The person who lives with integrity will serve me. 6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me.
The one who does deceitful things will not stay in my home. The one who tells lies will not remain in my presence. 7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.
Every morning I will destroy all the wicked people in the land to rid the LORD's city of all troublemakers. 8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.
