New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
A psalm of David. I will sing of your love and justice. I will praise you, LORD, with songs. 1 I will sing of your love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will sing praise.
I will be careful to live a blameless life -- when will you come to my aid? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. 2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life-- when will you come to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart.
I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all crooked dealings; I will have nothing to do with them. 3 I will set before my eyes no vile thing. The deeds of faithless men I hate; they will not cling to me.
I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. 4 Men of perverse heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with evil.
I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. 5 Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, him will I put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, him will I not endure.
I will keep a protective eye on the godly, so they may dwell with me in safety. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. 6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me.
I will not allow deceivers to serve me, and liars will not be allowed to enter my presence. 7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.
My daily task will be to ferret out criminals and free the city of the LORD from their grip. 8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.
