New King James Version (NKJV) New International Version (NIV)
A Song. A Psalm of David. O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. 1 My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. 2 Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. 3 I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
For Your mercy is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the clouds. 4 For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth; 5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth.
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me. 6 Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.
God has spoken in His holiness: "I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem And measure out the Valley of Succoth. 7 God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Succoth.
Gilead is Mine; Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet for My head; Judah is My lawgiver. 8 Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter.
Moab is My washpot; Over Edom I will cast My shoe; Over Philistia I will triumph." 9 Moab is my washbasin, upon Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph."
Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom? 10 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
Is it not You, O God, who cast us off? And You, O God, who did not go out with our armies? 11 Is it not you, O God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?
Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless. 12 Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.
Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies. 13 With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.
