Psalms 121

RHE

NIV

1 (120-1) I have lifted up my eyes to the mountains, from whence help shall come to me.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
2 (120-2) My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 (120-3) May he not suffer thy foot to be moved: neither let him slumber that keepeth thee.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 (120-4) Behold he shall neither slumber nor sleep, that keepeth Israel.
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 (120-5) The Lord is thy keeper, the Lord is thy protection upon thy right hand.
5 The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 (120-6) The sun shall not burn thee by day: nor the moon by night.
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 (120-7) The Lord keepeth thee from all evil: may the Lord keep thy soul.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life;
8 (120-8) May the Lord keep thy coming in and thy going out; from henceforth now and for ever.
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
