The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
{A Song of degrees.} They that confide in Jehovah are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved; it abideth for ever. 1 Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
Jerusalem! -- mountains are round about her, and Jehovah is round about his people, from henceforth and for evermore. 2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. 3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.
Do good, O Jehovah, unto the good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. 4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart.
But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel! 5 But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.
