New King James Version (NKJV) New International Version (NIV)
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? 1 How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? 2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death; 3 Look on me and answer, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed against him"; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved. 4 my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. 5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me. 6 I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.
