New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
For the choir director: A psalm of David. O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? 1 How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? 2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the light to my eyes, or I will die. 3 Look on me and answer, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
Don't let my enemies gloat, saying, "We have defeated him!" Don't let them rejoice at my downfall. 4 my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. 5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD because he has been so good to me. 6 I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.
