New Revised Standard (NRS) New International Version (NIV)
Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;
Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications! 2 O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand? 3 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered. 4 But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
my soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning, more than those who watch for the morning. 6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is great power to redeem. 7 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
It is he who will redeem Israel from all its iniquities. 8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
