Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
<> LORD, I have called on you. Come to me quickly! Listen to my voice when I call to you. 1 O LORD, I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to you.
Let my prayer be set before you like incense; The lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice. 2 May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
Set a watch, LORD, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips. 3 Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.
Don't incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice deeds of wickedness with men who work iniquity. Don't let me eat of their delicacies. 4 Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evildoers; let me not eat of their delicacies.
Let the righteous strike me, it is kindness; Let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head; Don't let my head refuse it; Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds. 5 Let a righteous man strike me--it is a kindness; let him rebuke me--it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers;
Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock. They will hear my words, for they are well spoken. 6 their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.
"As when one plows and breaks up the eretz, Our bones are scattered at the mouth of She'ol." 7 [They will say,] "As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave. "
For my eyes are on you, LORD, the Lord. In you, I take refuge. Don't leave my soul destitute. 8 But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge--do not give me over to death.
Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, From the traps of the workers of iniquity. 9 Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, from the traps set by evildoers.
Let the wicked fall together into their own nets, While I pass by. 10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
