New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need. 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You welcome me as a guest, anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
