Unto thee, O Jehovah, do I lift up my soul. 1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
O my God, in thee have I trusted, Let me not be put to shame; Let not mine enemies triumph over me. 2 in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.
Yea, none that wait for thee shall be put to shame: They shall be put to shame that deal treacherously without cause. 3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.
Show me thy ways, O Jehovah; Teach me thy paths. 4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
Guide me in thy truth, and teach me; For thou art the God of my salvation; For thee do I wait all the day. 5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, O Jehovah, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindness; For they have been ever of old. 6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: According to thy lovingkindness remember thou me, For thy goodness' sake, O Jehovah. 7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.
Good and upright is Jehovah: Therefore will he instruct sinners in the way. 8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
The meek will he guide in justice; And the meek will he teach his way. 9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.
All the paths of Jehovah are lovingkindness and truth Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.
For thy name's sake, O Jehovah, Pardon mine iniquity, for it is great. 11 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
What man is he that feareth Jehovah? Him shall he instruct in the way that he shall choose. 12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.
His soul shall dwell at ease; And his seed shall inherit the land. 13 He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
The friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him; And he will show them his covenant. 14 The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.
Mine eyes are ever toward Jehovah; For he will pluck my feet out of the net. 15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; For I am desolate and afflicted. 16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: Oh bring thou me out of my distresses. 17 The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish.
Consider mine affliction and my travail; And forgive all my sins. 18 Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.
Consider mine enemies, for they are many; And they hate me with cruel hatred. 19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me!
Oh keep my soul, and deliver me: Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in thee. 20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for thee. 21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.
Redeem Israel, O God, Out all of his troubles. 22 Redeem Israel, O God, from all their troubles!
