The Webster Bible (WBT) New International Version (NIV)
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed [is] he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in the time of trouble. 1 Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble.
The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; [and] he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies. 2 The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.
The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. 3 The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness.
I said, LORD, be merciful to me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee. 4 I said, "O LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you."
My enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish? 5 My enemies say of me in malice, "When will he die and his name perish?"
And if he cometh to see [me], he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; [when] he goeth abroad, he telleth [it]. 6 Whenever one comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it abroad.
All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. 7 All my enemies whisper together against me; they imagine the worst for me, saying,
An evil disease, [say they], cleaveth fast to him: and [now] that he lieth he shall rise no more. 8 "A vile disease has beset him; he will never get up from the place where he lies."
Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me. 9 Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
But thou, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. 10 But you, O LORD, have mercy on me; raise me up, that I may repay them.
By this I know that thou favorest me, because my enemy doth not triumph over me. 11 I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.
And as for me, thou upholdest me in my integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. 12 In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever.
Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and amen. 13 Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.
