The Webster Bible (WBT) New International Version (NIV)
To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yes, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until [these] calamities are overpast. 1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.
I will cry to God most high; to God that performeth [all things] for me. 2 I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills [his purpose] for me.
He shall send from heaven, and save me [from] the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. 3 He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; "Selah" God sends his love and his faithfulness.
My soul [is] among lions: [and] I lie [even among] them that are set on fire, [even] the sons of men, whose teeth [are] spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 4 I am in the midst of lions; I lie among ravenous beasts-- men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; [let] thy glory [be] above all the earth. 5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst of which they have fallen [themselves]. Selah. 6 They spread a net for my feet-- I was bowed down in distress. They dug a pit in my path-- but they have fallen into it themselves. "Selah"
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. 7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.
Awake, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I [myself] will awake early. 8 Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing to thee among the nations. 9 I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
For thy mercy [is] great to the heavens, and thy truth to the clouds. 10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: [let] thy glory [be] above all the earth. 11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
