O God thou hast cast us off, thou hast broken us down; Thou hast been angry; oh restore us again. 1 You have rejected us, O God, and burst forth upon us; you have been angry--now restore us!
Thou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it: Heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh. 2 You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking.
Thou hast showed thy people hard things: Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering. 3 You have shown your people desperate times; you have given us wine that makes us stagger.

Give us help against the adversary; For vain is the help of man. 11 Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.
Through God we shall do valiantly; For he it is that will tread down our adversaries. 12 With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.
