He has founded his city on the holy mountain.
2 The LORD loves the city of Zion more than any other place in Jacob.

The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are said about you, O city of God! Selah

Glorious things are said of you, city of God:
4 [The LORD says,] "I will add Egypt and Babylon as well as Philistia, Tyre, and Sudan to the list of those who acknowledge me. Each nation [will claim that it] was born there."

“I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me— Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush — and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’ ”
5 But it will be said of Zion, "Every race is born in it. The Most High will make it secure."

Indeed, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.”
6 The LORD will record this in the Book of Nations: "Every race [claims that it] was born there." Selah

The LORD will write in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion.”
7 Singers and dancers will sing, "Zion is the source of all our blessings."

As they make music they will sing, “All my fountains are in you.”
