New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
A psalm of the descendants of Korah. A song. On the holy mountain stands the city founded by the LORD. 1 He has set his foundation on the holy mountain;
He loves the city of Jerusalem more than any other city in Israel. 2 the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
O city of God, what glorious things are said of you! Interlude 3 Glorious things are said of you, O city of God: "Selah"
I will record Egypt and Babylon among those who know me -- also Philistia and Tyre, and even distant Ethiopia. They have all become citizens of Jerusalem! 4 "I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me-- Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush-- and will say, 'This one was born in Zion.' "
And it will be said of Jerusalem, "Everyone has become a citizen here." And the Most High will personally bless this city. 5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said, "This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her."
When the LORD registers the nations, he will say, "This one has become a citizen of Jerusalem." Interlude 6 The LORD will write in the register of the peoples: "This one was born in Zion." "Selah"
At all the festivals, the people will sing, "The source of my life is in Jerusalem!" 7 As they make music they will sing, "All my fountains are in you."
