| 1 To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. I will praise [thee], O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy wonderful works. | 1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. |
| 2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. | 2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. |
| 3 When my enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. | 3 My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you. |
| 4 For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou sattest on the throne judging right. | 4 For you have upheld my right and my cause; you have sat on your throne, judging righteously. |
| 5 Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever. | 5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever. |
| 6 O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial hath perished with them. | 6 Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished. |
| 7 But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. | 7 The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. |
| 8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. | 8 He will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with justice. |
| 9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. | 9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. |
| 10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. | 10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. |
| 11 Sing praises to the LORD, who dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings. | 11 Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done. |
| 12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. | 12 For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted. |
| 13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble [which I suffer] from them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: | 13 O LORD, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death, |
| 14 That I may show forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation. | 14 that I may declare your praises in the gates of the Daughter of Zion and there rejoice in your salvation. |
| 15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit [that] they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. | 15 The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden. |
| 16 The LORD is known [by] the judgment [which] he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. | 16 The LORD is known by his justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. "Higgaion." "Selah" |
| 17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God. | 17 The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God. |
| 18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall [not] perish for ever. | 18 But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. |
| 19 Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. | 19 Arise, O LORD, let not man triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence. |
| 20 Put them in fear, O LORD: [that] the nations may know themselves [to be but] men. Selah. | 20 Strike them with terror, O LORD; let the nations know they are but men. "Selah" |
