GOD'S WORD Translation (GW) New International Version (NIV)
The LORD rules as king. Let the people tremble. He is enthroned over the angels. Let the earth quake. 1 The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.
The LORD is mighty in Zion. He is high above all people. 2 Great is the LORD in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations.
Let them give thanks to your great and fearful name. He is holy! 3 Let them praise your great and awesome name-- he is holy.
The king's strength is that he loves justice. You have established fairness. You have done what is fair and right for Jacob. 4 The King is mighty, he loves justice-- you have established equity; in Jacob you have done what is just and right.
Highly honor the LORD our God. Bow down at his footstool. He is holy! 5 Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.
Moses and Aaron were among his priests. Samuel was among those who prayed to him. They called to the LORD, and he answered them. 6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel was among those who called on his name; they called on the LORD and he answered them.
He spoke to them from a column of smoke. They obeyed his written instructions and the laws that he gave them. 7 He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud; they kept his statutes and the decrees he gave them.
O LORD, our God, you answered them. You showed them that you are a forgiving God and that you are a God who punishes their [sinful] deeds. 8 O LORD our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished their misdeeds.
Highly honor the LORD our God. Bow at his holy mountain. The LORD our God is holy! 9 Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy.
