Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
I saw a new heaven and a new eretz: for the first heaven and the first eretz have passed away, and the sea is no more. 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
I saw the holy city, New Yerushalayim, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, God's tent is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true." 5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alef and the Tav, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life. 6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.
He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son. 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were laden with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, "Come here. I will show you the wife, the Lamb's bride." 9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."
He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and shown me the holy city, Yerushalayim, coming down out of heaven from God, 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.
having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, as if it was a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
having a great and high wall; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Yisra'el. 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.

The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls. 15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls.
The city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as its breadth. He measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand stadia. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.
He measured its wall, one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 17 He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits thick, by man's measurement, which the angel was using.
The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass. 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.
The foundations of the city's wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, yahalom; 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst. 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.
I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, Shaddai, and the Lamb, are its temple. 22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
The city has no need for the sun, neither of the moon, to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the eretz bring their glory into it. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there), 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.
and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.
There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
