17 Zo het dan nu den koning goeddunkt, laat er gezocht worden in het schathuis des konings aldaar, dat te Babel is, of het zij, dat een bevel van den koning Kores gegeven zij, om dit huis Gods te Jeruzalem te bouwen; en dat men des konings believen hiervan tot ons zende.

17 Now if it pleases the king, let a search be made in the royal archives of Babylon to see if King Cyrus did in fact issue a decree to rebuild this house of God in Jerusalem. Then let the king send us his decision in this matter.
