Luke 19:23-33

WBT

NIV

23 Why then gavest thou not my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required my own with interest?
23 Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
24 And he said to them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give [it] to him that hath ten pounds.
24 “Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’
25 (And they said to him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
25 “ ‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’
26 For I say to you, That to every one who hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even what he hath shall be taken away from him.
26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
27 But those my enemies, who would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me.
27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’ ”
28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending towards Jerusalem.
28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
29 And it came to pass, when he had come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called [the mount] of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,
30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against [you]; in which at your entering ye will find a colt tied, on which yet never man sat: loose him, and bring [him hither].
30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.
31 And if any man shall ask you, Why do ye loose [him]? thus shall ye say to him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’ ”
32 And they that were sent, went and found even as he had said to them.
32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.
33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, Why loose ye the colt?
33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
