Give thanks to the LORD,1 call on his name;2 make known among the nations what he has done.

Sing to him,3 sing praise4 to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.53
Glory in his holy name;6 let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face7 always.

Remember the wonders8 he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,96
O descendants of Abraham his servant,10 O sons of Jacob, his chosen11 ones.

He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

He remembers his covenant12 forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations,
9
the covenant he made with Abraham,13 the oath he swore to Isaac.

He confirmed it14 to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:1511
"To you I will give the land of Canaan16 as the portion you will inherit."1712
When they were but few in number,18 few indeed, and strangers in it,1913
they wandered from nation to nation,20 from one kingdom to another.

He allowed no one to oppress21 them; for their sake he rebuked kings:2215
"Do not touch23 my anointed ones; do my prophets24 no harm."

He called down famine25 on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food;
17
and he sent a man before them-- Joseph, sold as a slave.2618
They bruised his feet with shackles,27 his neck was put in irons,

till what he foretold28 came to pass, till the word29 of the LORD proved him true.

The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free.3021
He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed,

to instruct his princes31 as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom.3223
Then Israel entered Egypt;33 Jacob lived34 as an alien in the land of Ham.3524
The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous36 for their foes,

whose hearts he turned37 to hate his people, to conspire38 against his servants.
