Matthew 5:17-20

Listen to Matthew 5:17-20
17 "Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them.
18 For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.
19 Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matching the Inside with the Outside, Part 2
Matching the Inside with the Outside, Part 2
Stuart and Jill Briscoe

On a mountainside in Galilee, Jesus preached a sermon for the ages. In it He turned every religious principle on its head, carrying His hearers from conduct to character, rules to righteousness, and laws to life. In this message, guest speaker Charles Price gets to the heart of Christ’s Sermon on the Mount. As you follow him through Jesus’ message, you too will be carried from the expectation of external action to the blessed grace of internal transformation.

The Law of the Kingdom Part 1
The Law of the Kingdom Part 1

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Not by works, so that no one can boast!”  That sure makes it clear, we’re saved by grace and not by trying to live up to the standard of the law.  But does that mean the law of God is unnecessary?  Today on Sound Doctrine we learn that Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law, but rather fulfill it!  But what should our response to the law be?  Find out today.
