The Beautiful Truth of a Redeemed Life

To be redeemed is to live life in surrender to the Lord. We come to Him, broken by sin and unable to break its hold upon us. He meets us in our plight, and pulls us out in the grandest rescue effort of all time. There is a level of obedience required when we live redeemed in Jesus Christ, but the work we accomplish is driven by the work of the Holy Spirit alive and active in us, and our obedience to His work in our lives. Day by day we are changing, becoming more like Christ. “Paul’s conversion experience gave him a new perspective on Christians and Christ. Gone were the days when Paul appraised them according to the flesh, from a human perspective,” The Moody Bible Commentary explains. “When people become Christians, they are in Christ and view everything from a new perspective.”
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not watching anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” (Galatians 1:3-5).
“For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance – now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant” (Hebrews 9:15).
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you – even Jesus” (Acts 3:19-20).
“Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” (Romans 2:4).
“Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?” (Galatians 3:3).
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).
“He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever – holy and awesome is his name” (Psalm 111:9).
“You came near when I called you, and you said, ‘Do not fear.’ You, Lord, took up my case; you redeemed my life” (Lamentations 3:57-58).
“For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whole we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14).
