Why then hast thou not kept the oath of the Lord
Which was made by him, and in his presence, and in which he was appealed to, and so by not keeping it was guilty of perjury:

and the commandment that I have charged thee with?
and so guilty of disobedience to him as his sovereign; for which two reasons he ought to die.

41 Pero informaron a Salomón que Simei había ido de Jerusalén hasta Gat y había vuelto.
42 Entonces el rey envió a llamar a Simei y le dijo: ¿No te hice jurar por el SEÑOR y te advertí seriamente, diciendo: "El día que salgas y vayas a cualquier parte, ten por seguro que ciertamente morirás"? Y tú me dijiste: "La palabra que he oído es buena."
43 ¿Por qué, entonces, no guardaste el juramento del SEÑOR y el mandamiento que te impuse?
44 Dijo además el rey a Simei: Tú sabes todo el mal que hiciste a mi padre David, que tú reconoces en tu corazón; el SEÑOR, pues, hará recaer tu mal sobre tu propia cabeza.
45 Pero el rey Salomón será bendito, y el trono de David será firme delante del SEÑOR para siempre.
