7 y el cerdo, porque aunque tiene pezuña dividida, formando así un casco hendido, no rumia; será inmundo para vosotros.

8 "No comeréis de su carne ni tocaréis sus cadáveres; serán inmundos para vosotros.

9 "De todos los animales que hay en las aguas, podréis comer éstos: todos los que tienen aletas y escamas en las aguas, en los mares o en los ríos, podréis comer.

10 "Pero todos los que no tienen aletas ni escamas en los mares y en los ríos, entre todo lo que se mueve en las aguas y entre todas las criaturas vivientes que están en el agua, os serán abominación;

11 os serán abominación, no comeréis de su carne y abominaréis sus cadáveres.

12 "Todo lo que en las aguas no tenga aletas ni escamas, os será abominación.

13 "Además, éstas abominaréis de entre las aves, no se comerán, son abominación: el águila, el buitre y el buitre negro,

14 el milano y el halcón según su especie;

15 todo cuervo según su especie;

16 el avestruz, la lechuza, la gaviota y el gavilán según su especie;

17 el búho, el somormujo, el búho real,

INTRODUCTION TO LEVITICUS 11

This chapter treats of creatures clean and unclean, as fit or not fit to be eaten; and first of beasts, whose signs are given, Le 11:1-8 then of fishes, which are likewise described, Le 11:9-12 after that of fowls, and those that are not to be eaten are particularly named, Le 11:13-19 next of creeping things, which are distinguished into two sorts, as flying creeping things, of which those that are unclean, their carcasses are not even to be touched, as neither the carcasses of unclean beasts, Le 11:20-28 and creeping things on the earth, which defile by touching, as well as eating, and make everything unclean, upon which, being dead, they fall, Le 11:29-43 and these laws are enforced from the holiness and goodness of God, Le 11:44,45 and the chapter is concluded with a recapitulation of them, Le 11:46,47.
