12-13 Though it was urgent that John write to these Christians with both warning and encouragement, he knew it was far better to visit them in person. The most effective form of ministry—the kind that brings the most joy—is that done face to face (v. 12). The apostle concludes with warm greetings from a sister church (v. 13).
