Luke 6:10

10 After looking around at them all, He told him, "Stretch out your hand." He did so, and his hand was restored.[a]

Luke 6:10 Meaning and Commentary

Luke 6:10

And looking round about upon them all
The Scribes and Pharisees, and the rest of the people in the synagogue; (See Gill on Mark 3:5).

he said to the man;
who had the withered hand,

stretch forth thy hand, and he did so;
he stretched it out, as the Syriac and Persic versions render it, which he was not able to do before:

and his hand was restored well as the other;
the phrase, "well as the other", is left out in one copy, and in the Vulgate Latin version; and so is the word "well" in the Syriac and Arabic versions; and the word "immediately" is added in the Ethiopic version. And certain it is, that his withered hand was restored sound and well as the other, directly.

Luke 6:10 In-Context

8 But He knew their thoughts and told the man with the paralyzed hand, "Get up and stand here." So he got up and stood there.
9 Then Jesus said to them, "I ask you: is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?"
10 After looking around at them all, He told him, "Stretch out your hand." He did so, and his hand was restored.
11 They, however, were filled with rage and started discussing with one another what they might do to Jesus.
12 During those days He went out to the mountain to pray and spent all night in prayer to God.
