1 Samuel 17:57

And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine,
&c.] Carrying his head in triumph, and no doubt accompanied with the acclamations of the people:

Abner took him and brought him before Saul, with the head of the
Philistine in his hand;
to give an answer to the king's question concerning him, who could best do it himself; and that Saul might have the opportunity of rewarding him, according to his merit, for so great a piece of service he had done for Israel, of which the head in his hand was a sufficient proof.

55 掃 羅 看 見 大 衛 去 攻 擊 非 利 士 人 ， 就 問 元 帥 押 尼 珥 說 ： 押 尼 珥 啊 ， 那 少 年 人 是 誰 的 兒 子 ？ 押 尼 珥 說 ： 我 敢 在 王 面 前 起 誓 ， 我 不 知 道 。

56 王 說 ： 你 可 以 問 問 那 幼 年 人 是 誰 的 兒 子 。

57 大 衛 打 死 非 利 士 人 回 來 ， 押 尼 珥 領 他 到 掃 羅 面 前 ， 他 手 中 拿 著 非 利 士 人 的 頭 。

58 掃 羅 問 他 說 ： 少 年 人 哪 ， 你 是 誰 的 兒 子 ？ 大 衛 說 ： 我 是 你 僕 人 伯 利 恆 人 耶 西 的 兒 子 。
