2 Kings 8:7

And Elisha came to Damascus
On what account, and when, is not certain, whether to convert Gehazi, as say the Jews ^F4; or to confirm Naaman in the true religion he professed, for which he might be dismissed from his office, since another man was made general of the Syrian army; or on account of the famine; or rather it may be to anoint, or, however, to declare that Hazael would be king of Syria; see ( 1 Kings 19:15 ) ,

and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick;
at the time he came thither, where his palace was, and now a Mahometan temple; a very extraordinary building, according to Benjamin the Jew ^F5:

and it was told him, saying, the man of God is come hither;
the famous prophet in Israel, Elisha, through whom Naaman his general had been cured of his leprosy, of whom he had heard so much.

5 Jī hā xī gàosu wáng Yǐlìshā rúhé shǐ sǐ rén fùhuó , qià qiǎo Yǐlìshā suǒ jiùhuó , tā érzi de nà fùrén wèi zìjǐ de fángwū tiándì lái āigào wáng . jī hā xī shuō , wǒ zhǔ wǒ wáng , zhè jiù shì nà fùrén , zhè shì tāde érzi , jiù shì Yǐlìshā suǒ jiùhuó de .

6 Wáng wèn nà fùrén , tā jiù bǎ nà shì gàosu wáng . yúshì wáng wèi tā paì yī gè taì jiān , shuō , fán shǔ zhè fùrén de dōu hái gĕi tā , zì cóng tā líkāi bĕn dì zhídào jīnrì , tā tiándì de chūchǎn yĕ dōu hái gĕi tā .

7 Yǐlìshā lái dào Dàmǎsè , Yàlán wáng biàn Hādá zhēng huànbìng . yǒu rén gàosu wáng shuō , shén rén lái dào zhèlǐ le .

8 Wáng jiù fēnfu hā xuē shuō , nǐ daì zhe lǐwù qù jiàn shén rén , tuō tā qiú wèn Yēhéhuá , wǒ zhè bìng néng hǎo bùnéng hǎo .

9 Yúshì hā xuē yòng sì shí gè luòtuo , tuó zhe Dàmǎsè de gèyàng mĕi wù wèi lǐwù , qù jiàn Yǐlìshā . dào le Tānàli , zhàn zaì tā miànqián , shuō , nǐ érzi Yàlán wáng biàn Hādá dǎfa wǒ lái jiàn nǐ , tā wèn shuō , wǒ zhè bìng néng hǎo bùnéng hǎo .
