Joshua 17:12

Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out [the
inhabitants] of these cities
Mentioned in ( Joshua 17:11 ) ; they had not strength at first to do it, or either were negligent and slothful, and suffered them to dwell among them, and did not take the advantage they might have done; and afterwards it was too late, they became too strong and numerous for them, at least for a time:

but the Canaanites would dwell in the land;
whether they would or not.

10 Nán guī Yǐfǎlián , bĕi guī Mǎnáxī , yǐ hǎi wèi jiè . bĕibiān dào Yàshè , dōngbiān dào Yǐsàjiā .

11 Mǎnáxī zaì Yǐsàjiā hé Yàshè jìng neì , yǒu bǎi shàn hé shǔ bǎi shàn de zhèn shì , yǐ bǎi lián hé shǔ yǐ bǎi lián de zhèn shì , Duōĕr de jūmín hé shǔ Duōĕr de zhèn shì . yòu yǒu sān chù shāngāng , jiù shì yǐn Duōĕr hé shǔ yǐn Duōĕr de zhèn shì . 13 Jízhì Yǐsèliè rén qiángshèng le , jiù shǐ Jiānán rén zuò kǔ gōng , méiyǒu bǎ tāmen quán rán gǎn chū .

14 Yūesè de zǐsūn duì Yuēshūyà shuō , Yēhéhuá dào rújīn jìrán cì fú yǔ wǒmen , wǒmen yĕ zú dà rén duō , nǐ wèishénme jǐn jiāng yī jiū yī duàn zhī dì fēn gĕi wǒmen wèi yè ne .
