2 Kings 6:21

And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them,
&c.] The Syrian army thus in his hands:

my father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?
he speaks with great reverence and respect to the prophet, whom at other times he neglected and despised; and the repetition of his words shows the eagerness of his mind to fall upon his enemy when they where at a disadvantage.

19 以 利 沙 对 他 们 说 ： 这 不 是 那 道 ， 也 不 是 那 城 ； 你 们 跟 我 去 ， 我 必 领 你 们 到 所 寻 找 的 人 那 里 。 於 是 领 他 们 到 了 撒 玛 利 亚 。

20 他 们 进 了 撒 玛 利 亚 ， 以 利 沙 祷 告 说 ： 耶 和 华 啊 ， 求 你 开 这 些 人 的 眼 目 ， 使 他 们 能 看 见 。 耶 和 华 开 他 们 的 眼 目 ， 他 们 就 看 见 了 ， 不 料 ， 是 在 撒 玛 利 亚 的 城 中 。

21 以 色 列 王 见 了 他 们 ， 就 问 以 利 沙 说 ： 我 父 啊 ， 我 可 以 击 杀 他 们 麽 ？

22 回 答 说 ： 不 可 击 杀 他 们 ！ 就 是 你 用 刀 用 弓 掳 来 的 ， 岂 可 击 杀 他 们 麽 ( 或 作 也 不 可 击 杀 ， 何 况 这 些 人 呢 ) ？ 当 在 他 们 面 前 设 摆 饮 食 ， 使 他 们 吃 喝 回 到 他 们 的 主 人 那 里 。

23 王 就 为 他 们 预 备 了 许 多 食 物 ； 他 们 吃 喝 完 了 ， 打 发 他 们 回 到 他 们 主 人 那 里 。 从 此 ， 亚 兰 军 不 再 犯 以 色 列 境 了 。
