Joshua 15:15

And he went up from thence to the inhabitants of Debir
Having conquered Hebron, and got possession of that, Caleb marched to Debir, a city not many miles from Hebron, and seems to have been in the country, and part of the land, which was given him; of which (See Gill on Joshua 10:38);

and the name of Debir before [was] Kirjathsepher;
or "the city of books"; either a place of literature, a sort of an academy, or where was a public library; the Targum calls it Kirjatharche, or the city of the archives, in which were laid up the public records of the Canaanites; the same is called Kirjathsannah for the like reason, (See Gill on Joshua 15:49).

13 约 书 亚 照 耶 和 华 所 吩 咐 的 ， 将 犹 大 人 中 的 一 段 地 ， 就 是 基 列 亚 巴 ， 分 给 耶 孚 尼 的 儿 子 迦 勒 。 亚 巴 是 亚 衲 族 的 始 祖 （ 基 列 亚 巴 就 是 希 伯 仑 ） 。

14 迦 勒 就 从 那 里 赶 出 亚 衲 族 的 三 个 族 长 ， 就 是 示 筛 、 亚 希 幔 、 挞 买 ；

15 又 从 那 里 上 去 ， 攻 击 底 璧 的 居 民 。 （ 这 底 璧 从 前 名 叫 基 列 西 弗 。 ）

16 迦 勒 说 ： 谁 能 攻 打 基 列 西 弗 将 城 夺 取 ， 我 就 把 我 女 儿 押 撒 给 他 为 妻 。

17 迦 勒 兄 弟 基 纳 斯 的 儿 子 俄 陀 聂 夺 取 了 那 城 ， 迦 勒 就 把 女 儿 押 撒 给 他 为 妻 。
